Both Cardinal teams second
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ROCKY MOUNT - Jacksonville boys and girls teams came up short in the Knights Invitational on Monday.
"Second place is pretty good, Nash Central is an extremely talented team," said Cardinals head coach Tim Hood. "I knew going in we were going to be shooting for second."
Ryanna Henderson finished second for the Cardinals with a time of 21 minutes, 27 seconds, while Megan Bucek was fifth with a time of 12:29.
"(Henderson) is a fourth-year runner and an elite runner in the state," Hood said. "Megan Bucek, as a sophomore, has made a big improvement from last year. She's a future star and she's doing well."
Jordan Snyder finished 14th, while Hannah Smith was 16th and Rachael Tuton was 20th for the girls. Daweet Dagnachew was sixth with a time of 18:04 for the boys' team. Khristiaan Sheedy was 13th, Cal Sligh as 18th and Stewart Cartmell finished 20th.
