Cardinals golf third

 WILMINGTON - Jacksonville carded a 335 to finish third in a Mideastern 3-A/4-A Conference match at Pine Valley Country Club.

Tiffany Smith paced Jacksonville with a 103, while Ashley recorded a 239 to win the team competition. The Screaming Eagles were led by medalists Jessica Hook and Megan Katsch, who both shot a 3-under-par 79.

"We still have some learning to do," said JHS head coach Robert Tate. "We slipped from the week before last ... we don't see these courses very often.

"But we did well."

Jacksonville travels to Olde Point on Wednesday.
