The Daily News

White Oak has started the season fast.

Morgan Cunningham had 12 service points and Nicole Brown added 11 as the Vikings cruised past West Craven in non-conference play.

"It's a good start for the girls," said White Oak head coach Brenda Wickwire. "We played really well and West Craven is a scrappy team and I'm glad we got the win.

"Nicole and Morgan are very smart and steady players. They also hit well because West Craven has some good blockers. They played really well."

West Craven was able to jump ahead with a win in the first game. But the Vikings battled back and seized three straight.

"Some of the players have some years on them and they have some skills," Wickwire said. "We were down 4-5 points and they didn't panic. They focused on the basics.

Lindsey Wynne had nine points and Susan Gabbert added five for the Vikings.
