SWANSBORO - Swansboro battled weather conditions in a non-conference win over Dixon on Wednesday.
"Both team struggled due to windy conditions," said Swansboro head coach Jim Sheehan. "We played pretty well in the singles and that's the difference."
Jordan Barham, Nicole Newman, Lindsey Yingling, Rachael Lucinski and Katy Laws each got singles victories for the Pirates. Newman and Yingling got a doubles victory for Swansboro.
Chelsea Winstead got Dixon's only singles win. Danielle Norris with Winstead and Brooke Lewis and Julia Taylor got victories in the doubles.

DOUBLES: Winstead/Norris (D) def. Braham/Ashton Taylor 8-4; Newman/Yingling (S) def. Bailey/McLaughlin 8-1; Lewis/Taylor (D) def. Lucinski/Laws 9-8.
RECORDS: S 6-4, 4-3, at Croatan today.
Croatan 9, Clinton 0: At Clinton, windy conditions wasn't able to show down to win against East Central 2-A Conference foe Clinton Wednesday.
Christine Conti, Noelle Osika, Michelle Bennett, Tiffany harden, Megan Morreale and Stevie Simmons each got win in their singles matches.
